Separation
Sometimes I wonder if men and women really suit
each other. Perhaps they should live next door and just visit now and then.
-- Katharine Hepburn
In Juno's realm, partners may choose short-term time away from each
other -- business trips or separate vacations. These do not usually damage
a committed relationship.
Living in different cities may put a strain on even a strong
relationship, but some couples thrive with the distance.
Breaking Up
Sometimes separation becomes permanent. It takes courage to admit that
your relationship is not working. Women often feel responsible for the
health of the union, and so we feel like we have failed if it falls apart.
Breaking up might seem like the shadow side of Juno, and it can be a
long and painful process. But if the relationship was unhealthy and beyond
repair, a final separation may be the best path to a healthier phase of
life that's happier.
When your heart is hurting, it's hard to see a breakup as a positive end
to a phase of your life.
We may jump immediately into another partnership -- a rebound partner --
because we fear to be alone. Even when we know we're not ready for another
deep union, we tell ourselves that "this time it will be different." It's
usually not that simple.
