Redecorating and Repairs
When you want to change your life, you may not necessarily make a physical
move, but a physical change is called for. Whether it's a haircut or new
paint, you have a new look, and so you can be different.
Painting surrounds you with new colors. It's cleansing, as if it erases the
old by brushing on a coat of a fresh life. We also make simple gestures
such as burning candles or sage to change the energy in a room.
Your home's energy reflects your own. If you make a change, it affects you.
For instance, if you install a spiral staircase, you're drilling through
the center of that energy field. Whole philosophies exist of how to make
physical changes so that they benefit you. One of these is
Feng Shui, the
ancient Chinese art of placement for the most harmonious energy.
Whether you're changing your home or your office, if you know what you want
and why you're doing it, you're more likely to get the result you want. You
wouldn't want a surgeon to dig into your body just to move something
around without a specific purpose and desired effect.
It's the same with changing your environment, although in our physical
spaces, we can experiment and learn what we want without damaging a
life-support system. Sometimes, we need to move things without a plan in
order to learn something on the intuitive level.
We redecorate to feel more comfortable. Back to the Moon and comfort -- if
the energy doesn't reflect you now, you feel uncomfortable. To feel more
secure in your physical space, you may paint a room or you may find that
you have to move.
If there's a really big discrepancy in your life, the energy's not working
for you, and you can't fix it by changing things around. You may start
with trying to change your home, but if the neighborhood, the city or your
work situation is not giving you back what you need, you may need to move.
