pallas athene, warrior woman

Mythology

Pallas Athene (or Athena) was born from Zeus's head. Second only to her father in the entire pantheon, she was the Goddess of Wisdom and was crowned the protectress of the city of Athens after giving the city the gift of the olive tree.

Pallas Athene was Zeus's favorite child and she, in return, was a dutiful daughter. She was very strong-willed. Although she always listened to her father's advice, she often acted on her own wisdom with great results.

The Goddess of Wisdom always preferred diplomacy to conflict when settling the affairs of state or conflicts between humans or gods. She did, however, lead warriors into battle when the necessity arose. She is often symbolized by the suit of armor she wore, a constant reminder that the Peaceful General was always prepared for a fight.
